Meditation is the practice of bringing your awareness to the present moment -- gently and without judgment. It’s a way of training the mind to become more still, focused and open. And, over time, it helps us reconnect with our innate clarity, peace and wisdom.
At its core, meditation is about learning to be with yourself just as you are -- without trying to analyze, fix or escape your experience. This simple yet profound practice can take many forms, from breath awareness and mantra repetition to visualization and body-based grounding. What unites them all is the intentional turning inward.
But when you're just beginning, sitting with your own mind can feel overwhelming. That’s where a guide comes in.
Working with an experienced teacher can take the uncertainty out of the process. I help my clients feel supported, safe and confident as they learn to relate skillfully to their thoughts, emotions and inner landscape. As your guide, I’ll offer tools and techniques to help your practice feel more accessible, effective and deeply meaningful. Together, we’ll create space for you to step into your highest potential.
Although meditation is ultimately a personal journey, you don’t have to navigate it alone. I offer guidance grounded in decades of personal practice and study to help you uncover your own inner truth. We'll co-create a practice that fits naturally into your life -- whether that's at home, in nature or even at your workplace — so you can carry your meditation off the cushion and into daily living with confidence.
Though I’ve been practicing meditation since childhood, my deepest training began in 2001 with many years of dedicated study and practice at the Padmasambhava Buddhist Center under the guidance of my beloved teachers, Venerable Khenchen Palden Sherab Rinpoche (1938–2010) and Venerable Khenpo Tsewang Dongyal Rinpoche. The Palm Beach Dharma Center in Lake Worth Beach, where I later served on the Board of Directors, is the local branch of this center. This work has been a profound part of my spiritual journey and continues to deeply shape my approach to teaching meditation.
In addition to my Buddhist training, my meditation practice is also rooted in my ancestral healing arts heritage. Drawing from my Celtic, Norse and Sámi lineages, I honor Earth-based wisdom and ancient practices centered on deep listening, rhythm and reverence for the unseen. This connection to ancestral tradition brings another dimension of stillness and awareness -- one that invites you to attune not only to your own inner voice, but also to the natural world and the lineage of those who came before you.
These influences weave throughout my work, offering clients a grounded and soulful approach to meditation that is both timeless and deeply personal. It was through these practices that I first experienced true joy and a deeper awareness of the present moment -- and it’s a joy to now help others discover the same.
Meditation has been practiced for thousands of years in cultures around the world, and there are many forms. At its core, meditation helps you connect to your inner guidance and activate your innate healing capacity.
My journey began in my ancestral traditions and is deeply rooted in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition. But my personal practice has expanded over time to include a variety of techniques. I've also received formal training in particular meditation and mindfulness practices.
When we work together, we’ll choose the meditation style(s) that best suit your goals, personality and life circumstances. Here are some of the techniques I may draw from:
Affirmation Meditation
Affirmation meditation uses intentional, positive statements to shift thought patterns and support emotional well-being. Once you're in a relaxed state, you'll repeat affirmations focused on areas like health, mood or confidence, allowing new beliefs to take root. I was first introduced to this practice during hypnobirthing classes while preparing for the natural birth of my daughter. That experience showed me how powerful affirmations can be in easing fear and building trust in the body’s wisdom. This gentle yet transformative practice helps rewire the mind and anchor clarity, resilience and inner strength.
Ancestral Earth-Based Meditation
Rooted in my own Celtic, Norse and Sámi heritage, this practice honors the wisdom of the Earth, the elements and the ancestors. We’ll use breath, sound, visualization and nature-based imagery to create a space of deep listening, healing and connection. This style of meditation can support you in reconnecting with your own ancestral roots -- whatever they may be -- and with the rhythms of the natural world in a grounded, respectful way.
Calm Abiding Meditation*
This foundational Buddhist practice focuses on settling the mind through breath awareness. As thoughts quiet, a sense of peace and natural clarity can emerge. Calm abiding helps to relax the body, soothe the nervous system, and create space for joy and spacious awareness to arise.
Chakra Meditation
Rooted in yogic tradition, chakra meditation focuses on the body’s energy centers. This practice may include visualization, hand placements and chanting associated with specific chakras. It’s a beautiful tool for healing physical or energetic imbalances and complements a yoga or movement-based practice well.
Guided Imagery Meditation
This form of meditation engages the senses -- not just sight, but sound, touch, smell and feeling -- to create a vivid inner landscape. I was introduced to this practice during hypnobirthing classes, as I prepared for my daughter's natural birth. That experience opened my heart to the profound power of the mind-body connection -- how vivid visualization and deep relaxation can support us through life’s most intense and transformative moments. In our work together, I may guide you through a visualization, or we may co-create one based on your needs. This technique is especially helpful for stress relief, healing and creative self-exploration. It’s also a gentle and empowering entry point for those new to meditation.
Loving-Kindness Meditation
Also known as compassion meditation, this practice comes from Buddhist traditions and focuses on generating unconditional love and kindness -- first toward yourself, and then toward others. It’s especially supportive if you're working through difficult emotions, relationship challenges or a desire to feel more connected. It helps cultivate emotional resilience, empathy and joy.
Mindfulness Meditation
Mindfulness is the art of being fully present with what is. This technique has deep roots in Buddhist practices, but is widely taught today in secular settings. It helps build emotional awareness, reduce stress and improve overall well-being. I’ve trained in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) through UMass Medical School, and completed "The Power of Awareness" course with Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach.
Tonglen Meditation
This Tibetan Buddhist practice teaches us how to work skillfully with suffering -- both our own and others'. Through breath and intention, we cultivate compassion, transform pain and release negativity. This is a profound practice for those facing grief, burnout, interpersonal challenges or a deep desire to be of service to the world.
Vedic (Mantra) Meditation
This form of meditation uses the repetition of a mantra -- a sacred syllable or phrase -- to focus the mind and settle the nervous system. The sound vibrations help draw the mind inward, away from distraction. It’s especially helpful if your mind tends to race or if you're looking for a practice that integrates well into daily life.
Vipassana (Insight) Meditation*
"Vipassana" means insight or clear seeing. This ancient Theravada Buddhist practice helps you observe the inner workings of the mind and body with clarity and equanimity. It brings awareness to patterns and habits, helping you release what no longer serves. Paired with calm abiding meditation, it’s a powerful tool for deep transformation and spiritual growth.
*A Note on Integration Practice: Calm abiding meditation helps stabilize the mind. Insight meditation helps analyze and release limiting beliefs and emotions. These two practices work beautifully together -- one calming the waters, the other diving deep.
