Jessica Dylan Winter, LMT, RYT, RMT
(Legal Name: Jessica Whitcomb)
Licensed Massage Therapist • Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher • Reiki Master Teacher • Certified Trauma-Informed Integrative Wellness Practitioner
I’m a trauma-informed integrative wellness practitioner specializing in mind-body healing through massage therapy, yoga, meditation, sound therapy, energy work and intuitive practices. My approach blends evidence-informed modalities with a deeply attuned, intuitive presence, creating a grounded and compassionate space for transformation.
As the founder of In the Stream Healing Arts, established in 2015, my work is shaped by three decades of contemplative practice and study across multiple healing traditions. My work is experienced as deeply calming, quietly transformative, intuitive and grounded in genuine presence.
Much of my life is devoted to quiet reflection, contemplative study and time in nature -- practices that cultivate the grounded presence I bring to my work.
Rooted in a childhood immersed in ancestral traditions, I spent my early years exploring astrology, dream interpretation, reading tea leaves, sensing subtle presences and communing deeply with nature. Building on this foundation, I began studying yoga and Buddhism in 2001, focusing on the classical Raja Yoga system and Tibetan Buddhist philosophy and meditation in the Nyingma lineage. In my early twenties, I lived, studied and practiced at the Sivananda Ashram Yoga Retreat in the Bahamas, where I deepened my understanding of yogic philosophy, meditation and the rhythms of daily spiritual practice.
One profound moment at the Ashram left a lasting impression on me. While standing among a family of pine trees, I noticed a constant, vibrating hum throughout my body. Looking around in confusion, I was guided to look upward, where a hummingbird hovered directly above my head for several seconds before flying away. This encounter became the inspiration for the logo of In the Stream Healing Arts -- a symbol of presence, attunement and the subtle energies I strive to bring to my work.
Over time, so I could better support individuals navigating stress, trauma and life transitions, I expanded my training to include:
My personal healing journey -- through meditation, somatic work, energy medicine, vibrational medicine, shamanic practices and creative expression -- has taught me that healing is an ongoing unfolding. This lived experience informs the way I hold space for others: with empathy, clarity and respect for each person’s unique path.
My work is not only shaped by study and training, but by relevant lived experience. I have moved through profound personal challenges, including complex trauma and deep life transitions, and understand firsthand the complexity of healing the nervous system, body and spirit.
When I was a child, I experienced a lightning strike very close to me inside my home and later a near-drowning incident in the ocean. I have also experienced interpersonal trauma across different stages of life. Over time, I’ve come to understand how experiences like these shape the nervous system and our relationship with safety, presence and embodiment. In my work, this informs a deep attunement to how the body holds stress and the importance of supporting regulation, grounding and integration.
This is not a path I speak about from a distance -- it is one I have walked ... and continue to walk.
I am of the north -- through-and-through. Born in New England, my ancestry carries deep northern European roots that trace back to the earliest land-based peoples of the region, with subtle threads that reach across the broader Eurasian north. From childhood, my connection to the Celtic, Norse and Sámi Earth-based spirituality of my ancestors has been a source of guidance and insight. My early spiritual life was shaped by this deep sense of place and continuity, as well as by the wisdom of nature. There were also influences from the teachings associated with St. Francis of Assisi.
Over time, my contemplative path deepened through dedicated study and personal practice across a wide range of disciplines. In my twenties, I immersed myself in yoga, meditation, Tibetan Buddhist philosophy and astrology. In the next two decades, my studies expanded to include Western esoteric traditions, depth psychology, energy medicine, shamanic practices, biofield science and the emerging intersection of consciousness and science.
Rather than following any single system, my personal path has been one of integration -- shaped by decades of lived experience, study and a deep commitment to understanding the relationship among body, mind, energy, place and spirit.
Today, my personal practice is centered in an animistic, Earth-based spirituality rooted in my ancestral lineage, and enriched by contemplative insights from Buddhist teachings and other traditions that have meaningfully shaped my path.
These influences guide the way I relate to nature, ritual and the unseen -- quietly informing my work in a grounded and accessible way. I do not teach dogma; rather, I offer tools and insights that support each individual in reconnecting with their own inner wisdom.
While my ancestral and spiritual influences inform my perspective, my work remains grounded, practical and accessible to those of all backgrounds and beliefs -- focused on supporting real, embodied healing in everyday life.
Alongside my healing arts work, I have 30 years of leadership experience in government, nonprofit, military and higher-education settings -- much of it in mental health and social services. This work has deepened my understanding of how stress, trauma and life transitions affect individuals and communities. I have facilitated workshops, community gatherings and private sessions focused on personal transformation and spiritual well-being.
I currently maintain a small, intentionally paced healing arts practice alongside a full-time leadership role while raising my daughter as a single parent.
In addition to my clinical work, I am a multidisciplinary artist and performing musician under the name Jessica Dylan Winter, creating music, paintings, drawings and writing through The Dylan Winter Touched Project and Moonstone Unlimited. I have also served on nonprofit boards, including the Padmasambhava Buddhist Center’s Palm Beach Dharma Center.
My work is rooted in:
Whether through massage therapy, sound healing, Reiki, yoga, meditation, holistic coaching or energy work, my intention is to help you reconnect with balance, authenticity and the deeper wholeness within yourself.
I do not view healing as a final destination, but as an ongoing, evolving relationship with yourself. My role is not to fix you, but to support you in developing the awareness, tools and inner connection needed to navigate that journey with greater clarity, resilience and trust.
In the Stream Healing Arts was born from lived experience -- not just study, but a deeply personal journey of healing, transformation and self-reclamation.
Jessica Dylan Winter is the name I chose during a pivotal chapter of my life. “Dylan,” meaning born of the waves, reflects the intensity and movement of what I had lived through, while “Winter” honors both my ancestral roots and the stillness where healing truly begins.
In time, I returned to my birth name, Jessica Whitcomb, reconnecting with my lineage and the northern land that has always called me home. But I did not leave my chosen name behind -- it remains an essential part of who I am and the work I offer.
In this space, I don’t position myself as the healer. My role is to support you in remembering your own capacity to heal -- to help you step back into your own stream, where your body, mind and spirit already know the way.
My practice is an ongoing unfolding. As a licensed massage therapist and integrative practitioner, I'm committed to lifelong learning and continually deepening my knowledge, skill and experience. I actively pursue continuing education and advanced training so that the care I offer remains thoughtful, informed and grounded in integrity.
My intention is to cultivate a thoughtfully paced, highly intentional healing arts practice -- one built on quality over quantity, presence over performance and depth over distraction. My aim is to create a space where growth is mutual, healing is collaborative and each client feels supported in reconnecting with their own wisdom.
I work with clients who are ready for deep, regulated healing -- not quick fixes. My sessions are paced, intentional and rooted in nervous system safety. In our work together, you'll be supported as you:
